NFL players completed their ratification of the new, 10-year collective bargaining agreement Thursday, signaling the official end of the labor dispute and the start of the 2011 league year.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell tweeted: “Congrats to our players & teams and thank you fans for your patience. The NFL will be better than ever #backtofootball”

NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith tweeted: “We are proud that we ratified a 10 year CBA. Thanks to our players for their leadership. Thanks to our fans for your patience. Thanks to Roger Goodell and the owners for their commitment to getting this done. Our players and our fans #winning today. Let us play.”
